We recently spent the day exploring the Central Florida Zoo, and it turned into one of those outings that keeps everyone smiling the entire time. Between the animals, shaded paths, and plenty of space to explore, it was a great way to spend the day together.
Exploring the Zoo
The zoo is located in Sanford and is laid out in a way that makes it easy to walk through with kids. The paths are clear, the exhibits are close enough together, and there are plenty of shaded spots to take a break when the Florida sun starts doing its thing.
Savannah was excited from the moment we walked in. Every new exhibit felt like the next little adventure.
Feeding the Giraffe
One of the biggest highlights of the day was getting to feed a giraffe.
Savannah had the chance to stand up close and offer food to one of these incredible animals. Seeing a giraffe that close is impressive on its own, but getting to interact with it made the experience even more memorable.
Watching Savannah’s reaction was easily one of the best moments of the trip. A mix of excitement, curiosity, and just a little bit of amazement as the giraffe leaned down to grab its snack.
A Playful Rhino
Another unexpected highlight was spending time watching the rhino. Instead of just lounging around like you might expect, this one was surprisingly playful.
Savannah loved watching it move around its enclosure and show off a bit of personality. It’s always fun when animals are active, and this rhino definitely kept everyone’s attention.
Moments like that are what make zoo visits so fun. You never really know what you’re going to see.
A Day Full of Discovery
Between seeing the animals, walking the shaded paths, and stopping to take in each exhibit, the day flew by.
Trips like this are about more than just visiting a zoo. They’re about sharing experiences, watching Savannah discover new things, and creating memories that stick around long after the day is over.
The Central Florida Zoo turned out to be a great place for that, and it’s definitely somewhere we’ll be visiting again.
